Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) connects billions of devices, from smart home gadgets to industrial sensors, creating vast networks vulnerable to cyber threats. Cybersecurity in IoT involves securing devices, networks, and data against attacks like DDoS, ransomware, and data breaches.

Key strategies include end-to-end encryption, secure boot mechanisms, and regular firmware updates. Protocols like MQTT and CoAP are optimized for IoT but require robust authentication to prevent unauthorized access. Challenges include resource-constrained devices with limited processing power and the heterogeneity of IoT ecosystems.

Emerging solutions leverage AI for anomaly detection and blockchain for secure data sharing. Standards like NIST’s IoT cybersecurity framework guide implementation.
